Scrapbooking mini albums
Scrapbooking mini albums can be created on kitchen laminate chips, in tins, hung off key chains or turned into magnets to stick on the fridge. Mini books can be made from scratch and you can also add photos to purchased mini albums. Mini scrapbook related projects are a great chance to use all your scraps of paper and little pieces of your favourite supplies on a project. A change from the usual large format is quite refreshing. It can also challenge us a little, to think small, be selective with our choice of photos and journaling. Planning Planning is important. Many scrapbooking mini albums will have a limited number of pages or space. By planning an album, the construction stage should flow more easily. The plan does not have to be detailed; it can be just a rough sketch. Draw up a grid. This can be as simple as a series of boxes, each box representing a page in your project. Sketch any ideas for each page, make note of the photos you wish to use and the journaling that will be included. Also make note of embellishments you wish to use. Mini album ideas When you start to plan a mini album, consider what you want it to achieve. Will it be a gift? Is it a small album of a single event? Is it an album to reflect your thoughts? Think about activities your children enjoy for example. You may want these things to be documented so in the future they can look back and remember their passions when they were younger.

FormatsThe potential formats for mini memories is endless. There are albums in almost any size, right down to the small Bazzill mono minis and Kolo albums, both measuring a small 3” square. Many scrapbooking companies make blank albums and pre-printed mini books. Mini albums can also be made to fit in (almost) anything, even a door hinge! Use photo albums Regular slip-in photos albums that are designed to take 10cm x 15cm photos, sometimes called brad books, are reasonably priced alternatives to some scrapbooking albums. Paper or cardstock can be cut as the background to the mini pages, and cropped photos and embellishments can be added. The pages can then be slipped into the album.
