Wearable scrapbooks
Wearable scrapbooks certainly are not a traditional form of scrapbooking. We can, however, utilise many of our scrapbooking supplies and techniques when embracing this form of scrapbooking. The archival properties would be questionable in many cases; however, when using photos for projects I always recommend that a duplicate a photo is used for any scrapbooking project. Inspiration Turn to your wardrobe for items to scrapbook. I’ve seen Heidi Swapp decorate her jeans. With her range of Iron-on transfers, clothing has become a scrapbooking target. Iron-on transfer paper can be used to print photos to be transferred to t-shirts, further embellish with iron-on motifs or jewels such as sequins to add some sparkle to the garment. For alternative lettering and decorative motifs, use the wide range of foam stamps with fabric paint, to decorate clothing. Create some novelty gifts to include in party bags (from both children’s and adult’s parties). Make rings, pendants, necklaces with favourite photos. Cover with Judikins Diamond Glaze to protect the photo.
Don’t forget your pets Humans shouldn’t be the only ones adorned with wearable scrapbooks; don’t forget our furry friends. Have a bit of fun creating a something for your pet. Make a collar with a photo of you and your pet embellished with pet trinkets such as bells. For the ultimate look you can now print your own tattoos at home, making your skin (or that of your friends’ or family’s skin) the latest surface to scrapbook.
